Parents,
What
a fantastic turnout (100%) for Parent-Teacher conferences. This class of kids has worked hard all year. They have
been an absolute joy to teach.
Before I forget--thanks to the parents for supplying the Valentine goodies.
As usual, we enjoyed all the treats.
Mr. Stuart will begin his swimming unit on Monday. Our class is the first
and only class to have it that day (Day 6). I have had the kids write reminders in their assignment books this past
week so they don't forget their swimsuits. They will have 3 swimming periods.
Also on Monday, the students
will begin taking the MAP tests--a test similar to Basic Skills except they do it on the computer and their individual tests
get easier or harder depending on how well they answer the questions. Make sure your child is well rested this coming
week.
Students in sixth through third grade each are given a turn to lead the morning school-wide Pledge of Allegiance.
Students in our room will be saying it beginning Monday.
The students did an outstanding job learning their multiplication
facts this year. It is very important that you keep reviewing addition, subtraction and multiplication with them.
I know the weather is going to get nicer, but don't forget to have your child get his/her reading minutes in. This
is homework.
I hope you take the time to talk with your child about what they have done each day at school.
A
few reminder of upcoming events:
